THREE OUTBREAKS AT THAMES

[PBESS ASSOCIATION.]

THAMES, Feb. 26

Three destructive fires have occurred at Thames since Saturday night, the flames having too great a hold to save anything. A. Martin's house and furniture were completely destroyed through a child overturning a kerosene lamp. The insurance on the house and contents was £100 in the Guardian office.

T. Cooper's bakery and store and adjoining dwelling-house were burnt to the ground yesterday morning through smouldering wood igniting. Last night A. McLoughliu's house caught fire, and was soon in flames. A water-race runs underneath the house, but it was useless to arrest the fire McLoughlin had a narrow escape from suffocation; he was rescued by a neighbor. The insurances are: Furniture £150 (Liverpool, London, and Globe); house, £200 (Sun).
