RESIDENCE IN MANSE ROAD.

The eight roomed residence of Mr Frank Adams, in Main Street, was completely destroyed by fire yesterday afternoon. The members of the household were away for the day, and very few articles of furniture were saved; A wind drove the flames on to Mr Thomas's residence, a few feet to the east, and the end wall was severely charred, the building being saved, however, by means of the chemical engine and buckets of water. Mr Adams's furniture was insured in the North Qaeensland Office for £300; the insurance on the house, which was also th<* property of Mr Adams, is £150 in the New Zealand office. The losses include a valuable piano. The inmates left no appearance of danger, and there is no clue as to the cause of the ontbreak.
