The Way to Health

Strength and

Vigor.

The G*— o*

MISS J. CUNNINGHAM*

(by a christohtjbch rbportbe.) !

In the course of an interview with it special reporter, Miss Jane Cunningham, who lives in Wordsworth-street, SycUnham, Christchurch, made some remarks of unusual importance, and, in consequence, the whole matter is here reproduced for the enlightenment of all readers. Miss Cunningham began by saying :— ; "Up to the last year or bo I was particularly robust and healthy, never know* ing what its was to hart a day's sickness; so you can judge how hard it .was for me to find that my days of health and happiness were drawing to a close." "When did you first make that discovery ?" enquired the pressman. "It was when I began to feel so languid every day that the work I had to do became too much of a t»«k for me. I used to get «p in the mornings feeling so sad and dreary and so weary and worn out that it was as much as I could do to make a start «a anything; and when I had made a start, I soon felt fatigued and had so little interest in what I was doing that I could not see any necessity for work having to be done at all. It was the most miserable feeling that I know ' of to be like that, and on top of it all I was terribly tormented with headaches. Sometimes they were so bad that I could scarcely see, they seemed to affect my sight so, and there was also a swollen sort of feeling in my eyes. What caused me more trouble than I care to recall, because even'the recollection of it makes 'me shudder, was nervousneis. Upon my life, I was afraid to go out alone or to fee left in the house by . myself, and whenever I got a fright, which I was very frequently getting, my nerves trembled dreadfully. If I slept at all I had nasty dreams, but, unfortunately, it was very i little sleep I did get, as I was awfully rest- - less at nights. I could go to bed feeling so weak and tired that it was painful to stand, ' but in spite of this it took several hours for me to find the repose and rest that I needed s» much." " Did you think it advisable to consult ft doctor?" " I had no experience in 1 such things then, you see, not like I have now, and I thought the best thing for me to do was to go to a doctor and explain •my case to him. He said I was suffering from poverty of the blood and prescribed medicines for me. Without a word of untruth, I really got worse under his treatment, for I got so feeble that I went to work on* day and the next I was not able to go.. All the, time my appetite was exceedingly poor, and my internal organs were,so upset that I could not get any sort of food to agree with me. , It seemed to lie on my chest and give me quite a* suffocating feeling, and oh ! what a horrible pain I had in my right side! It was something frightful, and the ache 3 across my loins and the pains between my shoulders, too. Really, taking everything into consideration, it was enough to make anybody tired of life, and it was dreadful to see how thin I got, while the greenish tint in the part of my eyes that should have been white, coupled with my colorless lips and my pallid complexion, gave me quite a ghastly appearance. It was when 1 was a> ill as I could ~ be that I began taking Clements Tonic, through the recommendation of an old nurse, and I have to thank nothing but Clements Tonic for pulling me round from my critical condition. Its effect upon my nerves was nothing short of miraculous, and for giving an appetite and making me sleep well it was equally good. Gradually my digestion was made sound, as I knew by the pains all leaving me, and for making one's blood rich 'and pure,'l know that Clements Tonic is superior to everything olse. Besides headaches, I had suffered from giddiness* fcut Clements Tonic remedied all my afflictroas, . : and its strengthening capabilities alone have . made me an advocate of Clements Tonic in all cases of weakness." "Have I your permission to use your statements ? " "By all means, as I believe Clements Tonic should be used by all delicate women. . You may publish my remarkß in any way."
