In view of the rejection of the Mestayer drainage scheme by the ratepayers on. the ground of a needed extonai n of the septic effluent to deep water and the cost of the connections, the Citizens' Drainage Committee formed to conduct; the recent poll met last night. A representative gathering ros lved unanimously to recommond tho City Council to amend the scheme in tho direction of deep water efllu«nt and an equitable method with regard to the cose of connections — the objection to the original scheme. They guaranteed to support the reformed project. It is probable an amended scheme will be submit! Ed to the ratepayers at an early date, after consultation with. Mr Mestayer as to extending his septic tank proposals in tho directions indicated.
