EVIDENCE OF ACCUSED.
Adelaide, September 18. m Dr Ramsay Smith, under examination, said that during his connection with tho hospital it had been the rule to post mortem every dead bndy it was possible to operate on and take specimens. The only exceptions were when the consent of the relatives was withheld. Every doctor took specimens. The Government was aware aud amongst the others who got specimens from him was the Chief Secretary, who had forwarded a request from the Imperial Government for specimens for cancer research. He believed he was acting lawfully in everything he did. He denied there was any foundation for tho charges of wantonness, impropriety, and mutilation in dealing with the bodies,
