Received September 19, 7.43 a.m. .-.•.-.: London, September 18, The Daily Telegraph states there is an impression in official circles that Mr Austen Chamberlain will succeed Mr Kitchie, Mr Brodrick will take £ord George Hamilton's place, and Mr Arnold-Forster will succeed Mr Brodriok. Lord Milner is mentioned as a possible successor to Mr Chamberlain. The Telegraph adds that the correspondence redounds to the honor of the country, and does not contain a single note of self-seeking or personal ambition. The Daily News says Mr CtiamberJain has met his Waterloo, and adds that an appeal to the country cannot be delayed.
