In the Assembly the Premier asked that, in consequence of the Council re-' jecting the personal exertion clausea of the Income Tax Bill, the House adjourn in order to consider the position. The House adjourned till Tuesday week. The Leader of the Opposition asked whether it was intended to apply for dissolution, but received no reply. The majority of the labour members oppose dissolution. In some quarters a compromise ovor the tax is urgod.
