Wellington, July 14. A deputation from the Municipal Association waited on the Premier to-day, and brought under his notice % resolution passed at yesterday's conference. Mr Seddon's attention was drawn to the fact that ihe Charitable Aid Boards had no power to buy land or put up buildings. They only had power to repair existing buildings. It was said to be absolutely necessary that this increased power should be given them.

Other changes suggested were that the mayor and councillors hhould go into office on the same fay, and tbat in the case of a tio at an election the Returning Officer should be required to decide the election by lot publicly.

The Premier, in reply, agreed that it was necessary that Hospital and Charitable Aid Boards should have power given them to acquire land, as had been suggested.
