CONVERSATION WITH THE
CARDINALS.

The evening bulletin says that the decrease of strength continues. The pulse is feeble and the condition of the patient serious, but there is no immediate danger.
A Reuter message states thai* there is great uneasiness at the Vatican, due to the almost entire fail are of renal functions. The. patient is now becoming rapidly weaker and breathing is more difficult.
He conversed with Cardinals during the morning with great difficulty, the articulation of monosyllables and the memory being less clear. There are rumors that he is suffering from carcinomia of the liver.
The mind had a slight rally late in the evening, and His Holiness conversed with Cardinal Satolli, with lucidity, regarding the Biblical Committee. The Pope bad a further relapse at midnight. ,
