They consider it will improve Anglo-French relations, and contribute to the peace of Europe. The Novoe Vremya asserts that if Britain will abandon her idea of advancing the Indian frontier to Shattelarab, and extending her influence north of the Yangtse Valley, a complete Anglo-Russian rapprochement is possible.
