TRADES UNION OPPOSITION.
London, June 18.
The Parliamentary Committee of the Trades' Union Congress unanimously resolved to urge workers to oppose Mr Chamberlain's scheme.
The Daily Express jstates that Mr Chamberlain ascertained that 80 per cent, of Midland manufacturers support him. Mr Hobson, Acting Agent-General for Victoria, in correcting Sir A. Deakin's declaration that Federal State Governments approved of Mr Chamberlain's proposals, states that Mr Deakin's was merely a personal estimate of Australian sentiment. The Victorian Government had not expressed an opinion.
