Auckland, June 18.
Last nighb the window of S. L. Rimmer, cofiee merchant, was smashed, it is presumed, by someone who objected to objectionable literature displayed in the window. Mr Rimmer to day put up a placarding, " This is the work of the Church of Rome." The window was broken a second time. Rimmer persisted in putting up objectionable placards, and an immense crowd congregated. The police arrested Rimmer on the charge that his conduct was calculated to cause a breach of the peace.
