London, June 17. His Majesty's colt Mead won the Prince of Wales's Stakes at Ascot. [The race is a sweepstakes of £50 each, half forfeit, with £1000 added, for three-year-olds, and ifc is run over the New Course at Ascot—about one mile and five furlongs. Mead is by the King's stallion Persimmon (who won the Derby in 1896), from Meadow Chat. .
