A HOSTILE AMENDMENT NEGATIVED.
RISE IN CONSOLS.
London, April 24.
In the House of Commons an amendment to reduce tho duty on tea (now 61 per lb) was negatived by 184 to 76. Consols, after closing hours on the Exchange, were quoted at 92|—17s 6d higher than the quotation before the closing. .
