~TteNEDiN, March 6. Between seven and eight this morning Mr J. R. Thornton, solicitor, was picked up on the St. Clair beach, unconscious, with' a wound from a poa rifle in the centre of his forehead. The weapon was still in his hand. Very little hepe of recovery is entertained. : Match 7.
