Wellington, October 19.
Snow fell in the city for a few minutes this morning, followed by a heavy hail storm. The Rimutakas have a heavy mantle of snow.
Palmerston N., October 19.
A heavy'gale has been blowing here since yesterday afternoon with hail and heavy rain, and there is still no sign of 1b abating.
Ashborton, October 18. The weather is bitterly cold, with snow and a sleety rain.
Christohurch, October 18.
During the afternoon heavy hail fell and there was a fall of snow. The hills are covered. In consequenco of the bad weather all cricket was postponed.
Later.
There is extremely wintry weather to-day with hail and snowstorm. Many thousands of newly shorn sheep will be killed.
New Plymouth, October 18. The weather is very cold and the sea heavy. ■ ' .'
