MARINA; VISITING BLENHEIM SATURDAYS., The young Trotting Stallion, , IMPERIAL BELL-BOY (Priace Imperial—Black Angel). nPIHIS fine young horse was bred by JL A. G. Holmes, Esq., Hoon-Hay, Canterbury, and is by that celebrated sire Prince son of 'Hambel--tonian Bell-Boy, he by Ulster Chief, i Prince Imperial has proved himself to be one of the very best and gamest horses seen on the trotting tracks of the colony. At the Canterbury Trotting Club's May Meeting, 1897, he won at his ease the Record Reign Handicap, beating the '.best field that has ever started in a race in New Zealand. But his crowning performance was at the Plumpton Park Meeting in March, when, starting from a back mark, he covered the two miles in 4min 58sec, winning easily; a performance which stamps him one of the finest trotters in the colony. Prince Imperial is sire of Hamlin and Little Princess, two horses which rank among the best of their age in the colony, and several other promising young ones. l The dam of Imperial Bklli-Boyls that* well known performer Black Angel, from Blackwood—Abdullah. Black Angel is the dam of Architect, Plan, and other noted performers. Imperial Bell-Boy was foaled November, 1899, and is a rich dark brown horse, standing 16 hands high, and built in proportion, with splendid bone, stylish action, and a most docile, temper. And the iact of him having won three first prizes in the show rings in Canterbury, also at the last Metropolitan Show, where he got first and special mention among all the young classes, proves him beyond a doubt to be the most stylish horse of his age and class in the colony.
