New Plymouth, October 1.
The Customs revenue for the September quarter was £7,123, as against £6,313 for the corresponding quarter last year, and £4,624 in 1900.
Hawera, October 1. It has been decided to form a Cooperative Building Society here. Over 600 shares have been applied for, and it is probable the share list wiil be kept open until 1000 have been taken up. Palmerston N., October 11.
The Borough Council last evening adopted an agreement between the Council and the Longburn Freezing Works with reference to the utilisation of the works as abbatoirs for the town.
Invercargill, October 1.
Dr Torrey and Mr Alexander, the American Evangelists, left by the Mokia for Melbourne. Their meetings here were largely attended, but the religious fervor was not so manifest as in the north.
Nurse Peiper, who was mentioned in Lord Kitchener's despatches, was presented yesterday with a gold medal in recognition of her services at the front.
