MARLBOROUGH RACING CLUB. PROGRAMME FOR SPRING MEETING, 1902, to be held on the Riverlands Racecourse, Blenheim, on WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY, October 22 and 23, 1902. FIRST DAY. 1. Handicap Hack Hurdles, of 30sovs., second horse to receive 5 soys from the stake. Nomination, 10s ; acceptance, 15s. One and a half miles. 2. Maiden Hack Race, of 30 soys; second horse to receive 5 soys from the stake. For horses that have never won a race of greater value than £15 at time of starting. Weight for age. Entrance, 20s. Six furlongs. 3. First Handicap Trot (saddle), of 20 soys ; second horse to. receive 2 soys from the stake. Nomination, 10s; acceptance, 10s. One and a half miles. 4. Blenheim Handicap (open) of 75 soys; second horse to receive 5 soys from the stake. Nomination, 20s; acceptance, 30s. One and a quarter miles. 5. Electric Hack Handicap, of 30 sots ; second horse to receive 5 soys from the stake. Nomination, 10s; acceptance, 15s. Five furlongs. 6. Second Handicap Trot (saddle), of 20 soys; second horse to receive 2 soys from the stake. Nomination, 10s; acceptance, 10s. One mile. 7. Flying Handicap (open), of 50 soys; second horse to receive 5 soys from the stake. Nomination, 10s J acceptance, 20s. Six furlongs. 8. High-Weight Handicap (gentlemen riders), of 25 soys ; second horse to receive J25 from the stake. For horses that have never won a race of great value than £15 at time of nomination. Second Welter Hack -Handicap, of 30 soys ; second horse to receive 5 soys from the stake. Nomination, 10s; acceptance, 10s. Six furlongs. RULES AND REGULATIONS. 1. All stakes will be paid in full. 2. Penalties.—Flat Races—The win ncr of any flat race after declaration of weights to carry a penalty of lOlbs; and of any additional race a farther penalty of 61bs. Horses handicapped at Bst lOlbs or over to carry only half the above penalties. 3. Hurdles—The winner of any hurdle race after declaration of weights to carry a penalty of lOlbs ; and for any additional hurdle race 71bs extra. 4. A winner of any Trotting Race after declaration of handicaps to be re-handicapped. Definition of a Hack.—A Hack is a horse that has not won a race of the value of 80 soys, or races of the collective value of 200 soys, up to date of nomination, since Ist August, 1899.
