Work has been resumed in the Mount Kembla mine. Safety lamps are now used.
Mr Reid declares thafrthe separation of any State from the Commonwealth is outsido the sphere of practical politics.
A fire which has been smouldering in the Broken Hill Block 12 Mine since 1897 shows signs of a recrudescence. Ten horses have been withdrawn, and the affected portion barricaded off. The area is small.
