ADDINGTON STOCK SALES
At Addington on Wednesday 150 fat cattle were yarded, including a few prime heavy-weights and a lot of lighter sorts. There was keen com petition. Prime beef 30s to 355, other 24* to 29a ppr 1001b ; heavy bullocks, £14 to £16 ; good steers, £9 to £13 5s ; lighter, £5 7s 6d to £8 10s ; prime heifer*, £9 to £11 7s Gel; others, £5 £ 15s to £8 10s ; prime heavy cows. £10 2s 6d to £12 10s ; others, £5 to £9.
Store cattle—About 300; mostly good young sort?. The market was easier. Calves, 27s to 28s ; yearlings, £1 I63tn£l 18s; fifteen to eighteen months, £2 5+ to £3 6 i ; two-year old steers, £4 2s ; heifers, £3 12s 6d to £3 16s 6d ; three-year steers, £5 15 to £6 12s 6d ; heifers, £4 17s Gd ; dry cows, £1 18s to £4 5s ; dairy cows, £4 to £9.
Fat sheep—3noo, including a few linos of extra prime erossbre<!s, but the bulk were unfinished. There was a large supply of prime merino wethers. Competition was mostly in the hands of the local trade, expert buyers not being much in evidence. Prices for all good sorts, especially ewes, were firmer. Extra heavy wethers, 22s to 23s 6d up to 28s • freezers, 16s to 20s ; unfinished, 13s to 16s ; heavy ewes, 2's 3d to 22s 9d ; prime, 17s 6d to 20s ; others, 13s 6d to 16s; prime merino wethers, 18h to 21s 4rl; good, 14s 8d to 15s 9d ; others, 13s to 14s.
Fat lambs—Eighty were penned, which brought 1 Is to 16s.
S ore sheep—A mixed yarding of 1480, but owners would not accept the prices offered, and nearly all were withdrawn. The only sales were 103 hoggets, at 9s lid ; 85 owes, with 120 per cent, of lambs, 8s 9d, all counted ; 143 merino owes, 4 s 6d.
Pigs—Bso. Fats were easier, and as stores were mostly inferior, the de mand fell off. Bacooers, 38s to 535, up to 68s for heavy, averaging Q d per lb ; porkers, 22s to 355, equal to 5d per lb ; large stores, 16s to 20s; smaller, 8s to Us,
