The House resumed at 7.30,
A discussion lasting three hours took place on matters connected with the Agricultural Department, a variety of subjects being dealt with. The Auckland members urged the necessity of properly sterilising imported bones in order to prevent the spread of anthrax. Sir J. WARD said that farmers who imported bones should combine to getber and erect a small steriliser which would be subsidised by the GcTernment.
Eventually the whole vote passed unaltered.
The votes for the Working Railways Department, Public and School Buildings, and Police Department passed practically.without discussion.
Wellington, August 15.
After the Telegraph Office closed the total vote for the Department of Lands and Survey Department passed unaltered after considerable discussion.
Progress was reported and the House rose at 1,35 a.m.
