Wellington, May 12. The Commonwealth Post Office has advised the New Zealand Government that ie has definitely decided not to apply uniform Australian terminal rates to messages between New Zea- j^ land and Australia, seat via the Eastern [ Extension Coy.'s cables. This means that all intercolonial cables sent from the colony via the Eastern Coy.'s cable must pay a terminal charge in Australia of one penny per word per state j as formerly. I The Acting-Premier has expressed ! to the Federal Government his regret at this decision, but states that the New Zealand terminal charge of a half-ponnv will be maintained. i
