SENIOR CUP.
PICTON V. AWARUA.
The weather at Picton looked anything bat promising for the match early in the morning, but afterwards turned out bright and clear. The first innings for both sides was quickly disposed of, and very little fun was got out of a "caught" and "bowled," with here and there a " run out." and very few runs in between. A. Neal started with a flourish of 25 to his credit, with another 17 in the second innings, but "Watty was the top scorer of the day, with 45 (not out) in the second innings, many of them gained with splendid hits over and through the fence. For the Awaruas in the second innings Babb made 11, Thomas 11, Corder 11, 1«. Neal 19. P. Neal, jr., and Morrison went into partnership, and Piuton be gan to quake for its laurels, when Godfrey bowled Morrison, and presently Esson bowled.the last man.
