"THE SMALL BOY NUISANCE."

TO THH BDITOB. Snt, — A member of the Garrison Band's letter m your Wednesday's issue complaining of " the small boy nuisance " whilst the bands are per* forming on Sunday afternoons is quite justified m his remarks ; though the remedy is simple enough . Superintendents and teachers of Sunday sohools are no doubt grieved at the absence from their schools of these same naughty boys, and heartily wish that the bands would change their programme dates to more suitable times. The rotunda being m close proximity to the different sob ools, and the bands generally performing during sohool hours, must be a further source of annoyance. Standing around m the hot sun, and sometimes choking dust, even if the programme is most enjoyable, does not induce so large an attendance as the bands efforts merit. I would suggest for the bands' consideration if it j would not be a vast improvement to alter their dates to some evening. A summer evening performance is truly enjoyable, and assuredly the bands would have more appreciative audiences. Small boys would be easily managed by appointing orderlies to keep them down. If the bands favorably consider these suggestions, it only rests with the Borough Council to fulfil the contract, and have lamps fitted to the already prepared mains. — I am, etc., . " Sabaoth."
