THE SOUDAN CAMPAIGN.
♦ — DEFEAT OF FUGITIVES. [ONITKD PBEBS ABEOOIATION.] Received April 21, 9.80 a.m. London, April 20. News has been received that a British gunboat has defeated a force of Mahmoud's fugitives at El Aliab, killing 200 and capturing 70. Captives assert that 2000 perished of thirst or were lost m the desert after the defeat at the hands of Sir H. Kitchener.
