ENGLISHMEN V. SOUTH AUSTRALIA, [ONIXED PBBEB ABBOOIATIOR.I Adelaide, March 20. Glorious weather and a splendid wicket favored the opening day's play m the return match Englishmen v. South Australia. The visitors batted first and made 222— Ranjitsinhji, 40; Hayward, 32 ; Stoddart, 40 ; Board, 59. Jones took seven wickets for 80, six of his victims being cleaned bowled. Both Stoddart and Board were let off before they had reached figures. Board's innings was a merry one, and "Ranji" gave an elegant display. When stumps were drawn, the home team had scored 54 without the loss of a wicket— Darling 28, Lyons 21.
