Time, 6 p.m. NOMINATIONS, HANDICAPS, AND - ACCEPTANCES. Nominations for St Patrick's Grand ' Handicap, One Mile and Half Mile Handi* oapp, Bioyole Race and Ladieß Braoelet, together with the necessary fees enclosed, will be received by the Secretary until 9 p.m. on Thursday, 25th February, 1897. Handicaps will be declared on Thursday, 4th March, 1897. Acceptances, with money enclosed, together with the colors of competitors, will be received by the Secretary at the School" bouse, Maxwell Road, until 9 p.m. on Saturday, 13th Maroh, 1897. RULES AND REGULATIONS. 1. The decision of the Committee shall be final m deoiding all points m oonneotion with the oarrying out of this programme. 2. Three competitors to start, or no event ; four to start, or no third prize. 3. All competitors must be on the mark at the appointed time for eaoh event, and anyone not answering to the judge's or starter's call may be disqualified, 4. The Committee reserve the right to require any Competitor, before or after the event, to make a declaration as to his identity, or the oorreotness of his perform" anoes. 5. Any race may be run off m heats, at the discretion of the Committee. All 100 yard raoes will be run between tapes. 6. Competitors leaving their marks before the pistol is fired will be put back one yard for eaoh offence ; " snap cap "no start; and anyone not going back when required may be disqualified, at the discretion of the Btarter. 7. Any competitor found jostling will be immediately disqualified. 8. St Patriot's Grand Handioap will be decided by points : first, 5 points ; seoond, 3 points ; third, 2 points. 9. All protests mußt be made within thirty minutes m writing, and must be aooompanied with a deposit of 20s, which will be forfeited if the protest is not sustained. 10. No persons but the Committee and competitors will be allowed inside the ting. 11. Nominators must send m their laet two years* performances, private matches included ; and if they have not competed within that time, must send m their last three performances. 12. The Committee reserve the right to postpone the Sports from day to day, should the weather not be favorable on the 17th March; also the right to Btrike out the bioyole raoea should their not be sufficient entries to satisfy them, 13. Costumes to be approved by the Committee; and any competitors not running m colors sent m by them on acceptance night will be fined for eaoh offence 5?. 14. Any letter bearing date of Blenheim Poßt Office, or telegram bearing date anyn where m New Zealand, of February 25th, will be received as nominations, and bearing date of Maroh 13th will be received as acceptances.
