THREE MAORI CHILDREN DROWNED. [UNITED PBEBB ASSOCIATION.] Auckland, February 2. In the flood at Tantei, near Hamilton, Waikato, three Maori children were drowned. The Maoris moved to higher ground when the river rose, leaving the children as they thought safe. On their return the water was up and they could not find them. The bodies were subsequently found m an adjacent swamp. At the inquest on Snow, who committed suicide at Paeroa, a verdict of temporary insanity was returned. Brunnerton, February 2. A man named Hatherley, aged 62, was found dead m a paddock a mile from Landgon's farm, where he had been working. It is presumed that ho died from sunstroke. Later. The man found dead m Langdon's paddock was named Daniel Cox not Hatherley.
