As the result of a meeting of representatives of British manufacturers held yesterday to consider the advisability of communicating with Mr Turner on the subject of the tax of £50 on commercial travellers imposed by the New Zealand Government, the following telegram has been despatched to Mr Turner, who is attending the Premier's Conference at Hobart: —" A meeting of the representatives of British manufacturing firms to-day unanimously resolved to ask you to urge the Premier of New Zealand, as a preliminary to intercolonial free trade reciprocity, to remove the tax on commercial travellers m New Zealand."
