THE MINERS' STRIKE.
[UNITED PBESB ASSOCIATION.] Sydney, May 9. The Southern. Owners' Association confer next Wednesday with the Miners' Conference to be held at the request of the latter, and the subjeot to be discussed is advauoe m the hewing rate. Sydney, May 11. Thirty miners of the Garfcle Colliery have resumed work on terms equivalent to 8s Cd per ton. There is a feeling growing that strikers will shortly resume work despite the Association. A number of masters refuse back pay, on the ground that the men left m a body and did not give individual notice. A test will probably be taken " to the legality of tbe steps.
