BURGLARS IN GLASGOW.
Tho great westorn cify has been suffering of late from an epidemic of burglary, which hao kept the police busy, especially on tho south side. In soveral cases the burglars got m by climbing up tho water pipes, coming down the fame way. Two men who had just giveu this proof! of agility were caught m a backyard as thoy were putting on then* boo^s again. In another case, several robberies having taken place m a warehouse, a man was put m to watch. He hid himself ia a suitable place ia tho building, at tho same time attaching a strong wire to a gas jet, which, was left burning low. Presently the thief appeared, and as he passed the man m hiding pulled the wire and turned tho gas on full mMa face. He was so astonished that he allowed himself to bo taken prisoner without making any resistance. •
