CONCERT AT DEEP CREEK.

A concert m aid of the Brunner Relief Fund was given afc the Deep Creek School on Friday evening last, and although the evening was very wet a fair number of the publioput m an appearance. The Committee who had charge of the arrangements submitted the following programme : Overture, Miss Fisk ; song, " There's no one like Mother to me," Miss Nelson ; song, " The Longshoreman," Mr Powell ; song (with banjo accompaniment) " My father keeps a brewery," (encored)" The Crocodile," Mr Hay ; Bong, " The song that reached my heart," Miss Wilson ; recitation, " The Soldier's Grave," Master J, Alexander ; song, " Comrades," (encored) " Nancy," Mr Cox ; song, " The Fisherman and his child," Mies Andrews ; recitation, " For her country's sake," Miss Wakelin ; song, " Encore, one polka more," (encored) Mr Bedding ; duet, 11 The Pilot Brave," Messrs Cox and Powell ; auto-harp fantasia, Mrs Watson ; song-, " Anchored," Mr Stansfield; minstrel song m character, Mr Watson; song, "Weddingßells," (encored) " English as she's spoke, 7 ' Mr Bedding, The second part of the entertainment consisted of a farce entitled " The talented theatrical company, " m which Messrs Stratford, Hay, Jones, Nelson and Dillon took part. After the concert a dance followed, and refreshments provided by the ladies of the Creek tv ere handed round, Credit is due to the Comtnitteo who with the Secretary, Mr Stratford, were indefatigable m their efforts to make the affair a success. The net proceeds amount to about £4 10s.
