GRAIN AND PRODUCE. (Lyttelton Times, July 27.) The volume of business passing in the grain market during the past few days has been limited. Very few parcels of wheat are being offered by growers, and prioes remain firm at late quotations. All lines of oats offering continue to be taken up freely, the lota changing hands being chiefly for local consumption. Prioes have advanced about Id per bushel. There is still a moderate inquiry for medium classes of barley,, but prices close in favour of buyers. The following are prices ourrent : Wheat 8s 6d to 8s 9d. Oats. — Milling or stout feed Is lid, Duns Is 9d. Barley-— Malting 2s 7d to 2s 9d, second quality 2s 6d, feed 2s, Cape barley Is 9d to 2s. Beans.— 2s 5d to 2s 6d. Peas. — Blue Prussians, seed, Bs. Ryecorn. — Nominally Is 9d to 2s. Flour. — Millers quote roller £9, stone £8 10s, sharps £4, bran £3 10s. Oatsheaf Chafl.— sss at handy country stations. Oatmeal £10. Potatoes are quoted at 22s 6d at handy stations. Onions. — Locally-grown £8 per ton. Clover. — Extra choice machinedressed 6£d to 6|d ; farmers' lots 4|d to ssd according to quality. Dairy Produce. — Cheese BJd to 4d, loaf4£d. Butter — Factory Is to Is Id, North Island 10$d, dairy Is, salt 7d to Bd, bacon and hams 6d per lb. The above prices are paid to farmers f.o.b. Lyttelton, unless where otherwise stated.
