+ ■Wellington, June 28. MAKLBOROUGH SLEEPERS. On the motion of Mr Mills a return was ordered to be prepared by the Railway Department giving fall information with reference to the supply of sleepers. Mr Mills has an eye to the interests of small settlers m the bounds district. EDUCATION BOARD ELECTIONS. Mr Buick has given notice to ask the Minister for Education if he will introduce an amendment of the Education Act m the direction of altering the manner of electing Education Boards by giving Com mittees a proportion of votes m pioportion to the average attendance of scholars at iheir bchools. TELEGRAPHIC DELAY. Mr Buick has also given notice to ask the PoEtmas er- General why telegrams from Blenheim to Wellington have firsr. to be seni; io Christchurch, and what relief he proposes to give to prevent the delay entailed thereby.
