A SERIOUS CHARGE.
ATTEMPTED SHOOTING. [UNITED PBEBB ASSOCIATION.] Christchurch, June 29. At the Leeston S.M. Court yesterday, a small farmer named Patrick Mooney was charged with attempting to shoot John McVinnie. There was some dispute between the two over a drain, when Mooney brought a double-barrelled gun fully charged, presented it at McVinnie, and pulled the trigger. The cap snapped, but the gun did not go off. He was remanded,
