Another of her eons, Ifcepo, was also a fast horae, and winner of many races. His sire was that good horse, Louis dOr, who with a very few chances got some very fine stock. Young Scotchman left some of the best j stock, and is himself a great priza winner. Prince Charlie's dam was by G!anoer (imp.), who left more good workers than any other horse m Marlborough. He is a rich bright bay, with black points, and has a perfect constitution, combined with an excellent temper, and his quality cannot be disputed. He has only been exhibited on one occasion, viz., at the Christ ohurch Metropolitan Show of 1892, when he was awarded Second Prize m bis ql&sb, against the Champion Three-year- o!d of Victoria. In tha opinion of many judges, both Colts were equal m quality, but the superior condition of the Victorian oolt gave him the preference. Wellington had been brought out cf the paddock where he had been running all winter only a few days before the Show. Wellington's sire Woodlands, is too wellknown m Canterbury to need much descrip" tlon. He has proved himself a thoroughly sure foal getter, scd his progeny have taken a leading position as prize-takers at the various Shows m North Canterbury, and always command the highest prices m the market, Wellington's dam, JESS, by Kelvin, is still one of the best Clydesdale mares m Canterbury. Her sire, Kelvin, by Prince Royal, is now standing m the Ashburton district, and has proved one of the best stook-getterß m the province.
