♦ The monthly matting of the Wairan Road Board was held yesterday, all the numbers being present. THE FBIKB CONTRACT. Mr Diamante waited en the Beard with regard to his contract for forming a traok from the Forks, Wakamarina, to the Onamalutu, and was requested to state in writing hii intention as to ita completion. Seymour interviewed the Board in respeot to a road through Tyatesfield that required surveying. A letter was received from the Undersecretary of Public Works covering an agreement re the £1000 grant is aid of the Waihopai bridge, and it was resolved that Bach agreement be signed by the Chairman. The following resolution was also passed : " That a apscial order be made adopting the provisions of the Local Bodies Act 1886, and that the same shall be in force in the Wairan Rasd district after the date of the gazetting of the reßelution." After the Gazette notice baa been published, a notioe •f the Board's proposal to raise a. loan of £933 to aid the fund for the erection of the bridge (which is estimated to cost £2400) will be published in a looal newspaper, and a meeting of ratepayers in eaoh district will be called in accordance witk the Act.
