MADAME PATEY'S DEATH.
• TRAGIC SURROUNDINGS. [UNITED PBEBB ASSOCIATION.] Melbourne April 5. Madame Patey's death was almost tragic m its surroundings she was singing one of Handel's arias, and after endeavouring to silence the demands of the audience for a repetition, sang "On the Banka of Allaa Water." When she reached the last line, " Thera a corse lay she," Madame Patey was observed to be m pain, and swooned. She died m a few hour s, from paralysii of the brain.
