THE REES-OADMAN AFFAIR.
MR CADMAN IN AUCKLAND. [united press association.] Auckland, Ouly 25, Mr Cad man addressed ihe city electors m the City Hall, which was crowded to exoess. He explained at length his connection with Mr W. C. Smith and the Umutatoroa Block, and emphatically denied he had trafficked m native lands while Native Minister, or been guilty of any dishonorable conduct m the matter. He now made his appeal to those who had known all his private and public life, A series of questions were put to him on the above points of his address, the answers to which were deemed satisfactory. Hearty votes of thanks for his address were oarried almost unanimously amid cheers. Mr Cadman said he would wait for a vote of confidence at the ballot boz,
