Valparaiso, Ooteber 13. • The British claims against Chili comprise compensation for damage to the Ditrate works, railways, and buildings by the bombardment of Iquique, suspension of business at Valparaiso, detention of vessels, and loss of commerce. Colonel North's claims are regarded as {absurdly excessive.
