POLITICAL NEWS.
_ -♦ MR SAUNDERS' VIEWS. [united press association.] Chiubtchurch,' October 16. Mr A. Saunders M.H.R. for Selwyn addressed bis constituents at Springston last evening. He described the new members, the' new Government, and the new Opposition. Ue condemned the financial policy of the Government and the Payment of Members Bill, and supported Mr MoKenzie's Land Bill and the Land and Income Tax. He expressed himself prepared to give the Government an independent support He blamed the Opposition for ever haying appointed Mr Bryoe as leader, and said it was extremely unlikely that the present leader of the Opposition would ever succeed the Premier. He received a vote of thanks and confidence. Mr Ballance left for the South by the express train this morning.
