("UNITED PREBS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, May 23. \ In Te Manaroa v. Public Trustee case [ affecting many leases under the West Coast Settlement Act jndgment was given for. plaintff . The point was whether the lessee had the absolute right to surrender a. lease to obtain a new one, or whether the Public Trustee had some option m the matter. The decision was that the lessee had no absolute right. It was stated some fourteen cases depended on the decision. Mr Bell obtained leave to appeal to the Privy Council. The Native Land Commissioners send m their report this afternoon. Mr Mackay sends report separately from Messrs Rees and Carroll, not being altogether agreed with them. His report will not be ready till Tuesday.
