July 5. , j The Post to-night stales : A captain of t one of the coastal steamers, who has been J to New Plymouth frequently with his . vessel, stated m town to-day that from soundings taken since the wreck of the Hawea, he found a rock which lies m a k dangerous position for vessels entering New Plymouth. He also states that it is c the rock which wai referred to at the en- l quiry yesterday— the ouo found by the c Maoris— but that its position as given m c Court is a long way out. In his opinion ' il is probable that was lhe rook on which ' the Hawea struck.
