THE DEATH OF JIB PEABSON. The PREMIER said the House would hear with regret that Mr Pearson, the member for Ashley, had died this morning. He felt sure he would only be expressing the .feelings of the House when he proposed an adjournment till 7.30 out of respect for the memory of the hon. gentleman, and to show their sympathy with his family. - . ■ Mr LANCE seconded the motion, as one of the oldest,friends m the House of Mr Pearson's family. He had been brought up m a sterling school, and was sure the House would agree that he was worthy of the stock from which he came. Mr MILLS, asone of the New Zealand born members, added a tribute of respect to -Mr, Pearson as a promising -young member. Mr O'CALLAGHAN, as one_ of the deceased gentleman's oldest friends, expressed deep regret at his death, and suggested that the few words which had been spoken that afternoon would be engrossed and forwarded to his relatives. Sir G. GEEY also added a few words of regret and sympathy. ■ . . . The SPEAKER said he would see that a minute of the proceedings were forwarded to the widow and family. The motion was agreed to, and the * Hojise adjourned till 7.30.
