George Thomas & Co. report produce prices as follows:— The late advance m values' of oats show every prospect of per- ' manency, and it is now almost an impossibility to secure a good feed sample at southern ports under Is 8d per bushel .0.b. ; prime shorts we quote here ex store 2s 2d, long and;medium feed Is lid to- 2s Id, and seed Tartarian and Canadians (black and white) 2s Sd per bushel. Chaff is exceedingly plentiful, and prices show a -decline being rfgfe^t 12 15s and L 3 15s for straw and sifeaT respectively *for parcels. Oatmeal, L9^ 5s to L 9 10s Flour" — Best roller is* unaltered at ,L 9to L 9 ss, and stone process L 8 to L 8 ss; there are several qualities now being offered at much lower rates ; they have the misfortune of beirg minus the maker's name branded on the bags, and must be looked upon as utterly unreliable as regards quality. Prime Oamaru potatoes are firm at sob to 60s ; other descriptions, 50a per ton ; Bath, kidney, lapstone flukes for seed are "enquired for at L 5 per ton for guaranteed parcels. Turnips L 2 ss, and carrots L 2 10s per ton; pearl barley, scarce at 225; split peas, 17s ; field peas, 3s 6d; feed barley, 2s 9d; maize, 3s 9d to 3s lOd; fowls' wheat, 2s 6d to $s- lOd, according to sample ; beans, 3s 6d ; onions, £4 ; bran, L 3 10s; pollard,. L 4; sharps, L 3 15s; Poverty Bay rye grass, 3s 6d to 3s 9d ; cocksfoot, 3£d; cheese, 4£d ; honey,- 4d to 56..; fresh butter is not so scarce this week, and to clear, stocks it has been found necessary to sell at Is Id to Is 2d per lb ; prime salt butter, 8d ; pastry do 4d to 6d ; hams and bacon, 7£d. Apples are scarce, and enquiries are becoming numerous ; oranges are very slow of sale, and until they ripen a little, will command but little attention. . .
