A CURIOUS CASE.
(ONITKD PRESS ASSOCIATION) Timaru, July .3. At the Police Court yesterday G. Goode, porter at the Grosvenor Hotel, was charged with the larceny of a P.O. order for £2. He was given a letter to post by the wife of the licensee on the 14th ult for the 'Frisco mail, and the envelope and order (there was no letter written) .were found m his room on Saturday. He explained that he was busy when given .the letter, and put it m his trousers pocket, and forgot all about it till he found it m his pocket last Thursday. The envelope being then very dirty, he resolved to put it m a fresh one and post it by next mail, and say nothing about it for fear of dismissal. He was sentenced to seven days.
