THE WELLINGTON MARKETS.

George Ihomas & Co. report produce prices : —The broken weather has oaused bus nees to remain somewhat dull, but, ' apaTt from tbis factor, the season ot the yearia against any large transactions in grain etc., as tbe winter is almost over and there remains an interim ere it can be said that we are fairly dealing in spring products. The only changes of aDy note are in onions and this season's potatoes ; 'the former are quite out of the market, and, unless eopplies reach us from Ans- .. tralia or America, a scarcity will ensue before the new crop is available ; the nominal vslue is £10 per ton. New potatoes from 2d per lb have reoeSed, and now are hardly value at Id ; such a low yalae is quite unprecedented at this time, and we can only account for it in the fact; that of old samples being of such excellent quality, and mling at the low rate of £2 per ton ; the usual brisk derusnd for the first shipments this year is conspicuous by its complete absence. Eggs have advanced to 9d per doz. and there is increased enquiries for fowl and other poultry, Lineß other than thoee noted are quite unchanged in value and demand, and we report— Flour, £9 10a to £10 5s ; fowls' wheat, 3s 9d to 3a lOd ; bran, £3 10s ; pollard, £4 5a ; oats, Bhort 2a to 2s 3d ; long ditto, Is lOd to 2a per bushel ; oatmeal, £9 10a per ton ; feed barley, 2s lOd to 2s lid : maize 3s 9d to 3s lOd ; beans, 3s 9d ; peas, S3 9d ; potatoes, old, 35s to 40s per ton; rye grass feed 3a 6"d per bushel ; cheese, .3d to 4§d ; ham* and baoon (factory cure), 6U to 7d ; eggs, 9d per doz ; iresh butter, overstocked, 3d to 6d for fair to primesfc parcels ; ealfe ditto. Id to 3d per lb ; honey 4d to 5d per lb. The only fruit (except rhnbarb, which is hardly a fruit, ruling at 03 per drz) to hand has been the usual consignment of Sydney orangeß, etc,, and taking into consideration the condition and quality as a ■whole, the realisations were satisfactory.
