Art and Industrial. —The Committee of the Art and Industrial Sooiety met last night. Present Messrs Fildes (m the chair) Allen (Hon Sec), Earll, Geo. Bobinson and Dr Muller. . It was resolved, m order to give an extra day for the classifying and judging, that the Exhibition be opened m Ewart's Hall on Thursday instead of Wednesday next. It represents the Government Buildings -flanked by lions, and by the fifgurep of Justice apd Art on either sid". i •' Educational Assooia'iion. — The visit of the Rev Mr Flavell to Blenheim is likely to produce solid benefit m one way at leayt— by helping on the formation of an Association for the sohooi teachers of Marlborough, similar to other bodies existing m the Colony. Mr Lucas, of the Borough Schools, had already been taking steps to form a looal branch, and Mr Reynolds, of Havelock, has|advocated that step m our columns. The matter deserves fuller mention than we can give it to-day. Meantime we may say that Mr Flavelinvites the Marlborough teachers to meet him at four o'olook to-morrow afternoon at the Borough Schools when he will give them' all the help and information that lies m his power. The notics is short, but it is hoped the country teachers will attend. The Association is not restricted to the male sex. Mr Flavell, it may be added, is Vice-President of the central body, the New Zealand Teachers' Institute. Waibau Road Board.— The monthly meeting of this Board took place on Thursday, May sth, Present : Messrs Ward (Chairman), Goulter, Pollard. Watts, Avery, and Richardson. The Inspector was instructed to ?isit Onamalutu and report on the oost of making a ro d to Mr Langley Adamd' property, to which thai gentleman offered to give £25. Resolved, That upon Mr Wm. Adams giving a : title to the road laid out by Mr Dobson from Bock Ferry to the northern boundary of seotion 26, the Board will immediately make the. bridle road through sections 59, 60, 61, and 62. Resolved, That Brenohley's contract be terminated, and that he be paid for the value of the work done. It <.vas decided to call for tenders for the following works: — Metalling the road from Valleyfield gate to the bottom of the Delta Saddle, and that the Inspector see Mrs Monro as to terms on which metal oan be obtained; that tenders be called for metalling the road from Mr Graham's blue gums downwards, where required ; that tenders be called for keeping the Onamalutu f „rd m repair for two years ; that tenders be called for metalling tbe rond from the boundary gate, Hillersden and Lansdowne, to the church oreek ; that the manuka and rushes be cleared from tho road formation, from the stony cutting m the Narrows to the eastward of Marßbburn; that tenders be called for metalling the road from the Waihopai Accommodation House to the river, and from the river the portions of road requiring it to the angle on the Delta Run.
