LYTTELTON ORPHANAGE TROUBLES.
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Christchurch, July 14. The Orphanage Committee reported to day on the enquiry into the alleged cruelty to a child by washing him m the open air on a cold wet day. They consider the method of cleansing him | adopted was injudicious, but that no ultimate harm resulted, and that the whole matter was much exaggerated by the persons making the complaint.
